Creativity In Crisis

Seeds of Opportunity

At this time in human history, as we find ourselves navigating unchartered waters, I am excited by new possibilities and ways of thinking not contemplated before. As Marilyn Munroe once said, “Within crisis, are the seeds of opportunity”.

What is happening in Australia and around the world is unprecedented. Yet we have a choice as to how we see this crisis. We can be get caught up in all the panic, or it can be a time to use the time to reflect, to gather your thoughts, recuperate and see how in the future you can do things differently.

Business As Unusual

Getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.
Steve Jobs

I can’t help but reference Steve Jobs and how he was fired from Apple. We are in essence being fired from ‘business as usual’. We have been given the opportunity to start again from a baseline of zero, to reinvent ourselves and flip the switch on how we do business.

Creative Juices

Who knows what the retail landscape will look like in the future, however, I am inspired by the innovative and creative possibilities that lay ahead. Innovative ways of doing business more consciously, ethically and sustainably.

Alcohol distilleries are making hand sanitiser, restaurants are now providing innovative take away options, and a company switched from making giant pop-up stages for big events to designing, manufacturing and selling stand-up desks and other ‘isolation’ office furniture.

Think Differently

So how will you meet the current challenges?

What opportunities may you uncover in this uncertain but exciting times?

Will you be overwhelmed by crisis or be inspired by it?

Only you can decide…

As Steve Jobs once said

Stay hungry. Stay foolish.
