t-House at Harbourside Markets is our latest project that has just opened.
Whether you are a tea connoisseur or just wanting to find a wonderful place to relax over a cuppa, t-House is the place to be. t-House however, offers much more than your average cup of tea. In fact, the owners of t-House have teamed up with Dilmah Tea to launch their first Dilmah Tea House concept in Australia, which features an array of beautiful teas which are on show on the counter in glasses which are lit up on tiered displays. t-House is about bringing back the fine art of appreciation, or as we like to call, ‘appreTeation’. Our Client’s brief was to create a modern Tea House while infusing it with a sense of tradition, after all, the art of tea making and drinking is part of many cultures. The owners wanted to revive the very English ritual of ‘High Tea’, where little morsels of food such as dainty cucumber sandwiches and scones, are enjoyed in a fitting environment. A Sri Lankan twist has been added to the menu, which was designed by acclaimed chef, Peter Kuruvita. We created a modern setting yet steeped it in a touch of yesteryear, combining pressed metal ceiling features and anagylpta textured wallpaper, together with dark stained timber.
In the evening, the space takes on a very different ambience, with blue pelmet lighting and the back bar display that changes from white light to blue. In the evening, patrons can sit down after a delicious dinner in one of the restaurants in Harborside Markets and enjoy a relaxing cool ice tea cocktails.
We wish the owners of t-House the very best and applaud them for bringing back the fine art of tea appreciation for all to enjoy and for engaging us to be part of their great vision.
